DnA Hot Sauce is a simple and versatile, thick and richly coloured, oil based chili sauce which we think goes with most foods. We offer a wide range, DnA #0, #1, #2, #3, #4, all the way up to #12 with heat increasing with number. Our vision was to create a single flavour but offer a range of spiciness to suit most palettes.
We use a combination of the milder Fresno chili and hot Habanero chili in these sauces. DnA #0 has no Habanero which is introduced to DnA #1, henceforth each # has an extra unit of Habanero added. The increase of Habanero is linear so hopefully you can find the heat level that suits you best. If you’re not sure what sauce to start off with then I’d recommend a #3 or #4.
All sauces are vegan and include various chilis, vegetables and spices and a fair amount of canola oil so if you like using chili oil, just add a bit more canola oil, give it a mix and let it settle. There is no added salt.
We make this sauce at home in our spare time so production is very low, typically fourteen or so jars in an evening. We slowly simmer the chili sauce for about three to four hours and then pressure cook the jars so it can be kept unrefrigerated until opening. I recommend removing the flat self sealing lid with the edge of a blunt knife.
